Avoid installing a recharger where it is high-temperature, humid, or gassing with hazardous gases such as methane.<\/p>\n<p>2. No flammables while charging, and keep well ventilated.  Danger of explosion due to a production of oxygen and hydrogen gases.  Cases of fire due to static electricity have been reported.  Do not cause static electricity inside the battery case.<\/p>\n<p>3. Do not unplug the battery plug while recharging.  A spark may cause fire or explosion.<\/p>\n<p>4. Replenish battery solution to optimal amount.  Use distilled or purified water if solution is low.  Do not use tap water, as it will lessen the battery\u2019s life.  Recharging a battery while low on solution will burn the battery due to an increase in the solution\u2019s temperature and excessive generation of hydrogen gas.  Also, recharging with too much distilled water will cause an increase in solution\u2019s temperature and an overflow of diluted sulfuric acid, which will cause electricity leakage and casing corrosion.  Repetition may cause an explosion from electricity leakage, or a corrosion hole at the bottom of the casing. <\/p>\n<p>5. Do not over-discharge the battery.  Running a motorcar until it stops will lessen the battery\u2019s life.  It may also trigger a safety device on a recharger due to voltage overload when it starts recharging.<\/p>\n<p>6. Do not touch the battery terminals.
